My daughter drew a picture of our doggies on the hospital white board and brought us homemade cinnamon muffins when she visited us today Aww💝 Great news! We have not had to turn the suction back on and and can continue the water seal!! We hope he can get his chest tube out tomorrow and go home!!🙏🙏🙏🙏My son is celebrating that he is off suction with his favorite chocolate bar my daughter and son bought for him! ♥️They bought it for him on the first day we were at the hospital and he has been waiting for a good time to eat it 😂

They have been doing chest X-rays every day and/or night since we have been in the hospital. The X-rays have been taken in our hospital room since my son hasn’t been able to leave his bed area while he is on suction. They have been using a vest to help prevent radiation and also have been covering me with a vest during the X-ray if I’m sleeping in the middle of the night. I have been going into the hallway or bathroom when I’m awake during the X-ray. I worry so much about the effects of my son having so much radiation with these X-rays. I think it will be important for him to have regular cancer screenings throughout his life. ♥️ The Dr came in and said after looking closer at the X-ray she is no longer concerned about a leak. They have water sealed my son’s chest tube and will be monitoring him closely for 24 hours 🙏♥️

Movie night ♥️My son said I will like this movie because Thor is funny😁That was such a fun surprise to see the Hulk in this movie!! I used to watch that show when I was little! My son needs to continue the chest tube suction for 24-48 hours depending on his X-rays. Doctors will then water seal his chest tube for 24 hours and monitor. He would need to start suction sooner than this if his lung collapses for the 4th time. We are praying his lung stays inflated so he will not need to face another lung surgery 🙏 Dinner and a movie with my son tonight ♥️ Our favorite part of the movie was Darth Vader kicking booty with his light saber 🥱😬Washing and adding lotion to my son’s back because it’s so itchy. I also gave his armpits a good cleaning 😝🤣 My parents bought those light up squishy toys for my son 😘 Thank you for your kind messages, positive vibes and prayers! ♥️

Sad news! My son’s oxygen levels kept dropping so he is back on oxygen treatment. I’m so thankful I was here because the nurses did not come in here until I called to alert them that it was dropping 🙏 A nurse also came in around 11:30 to turn the suction to his chest tube back on because his latest X-ray showed that his lung was collapsing again. 😥🙏The suction helps his lung re-inflate. I’m going to be watching over him closely tonight 🙏♥️

We are still waiting for the Dr to tell us if my son can get his chest tubes out today and go home🙏We were frustrated at first but then talked about how far my son has come and how we are almost at the finish line!! We decided it’s important to stay positive since he worked so hard to get to today!♥️ We have been busy changing his sheets, returning our DVD’s from movie nights and giving him a sponge bath. I also took a nice shower and washed my kitty 🐱💝My son is working on his chemistry and I’m helping him write in his notebook since that angle hurts with the chest tubes still inside of his chest. He asked for an extension but they denied it so it is due January 11th. Wish him luck!🍀Aww the nurses said they will miss us ♥️

The Dr said my son’s latest X-ray looked good but he still has air bubbles in the chest drainage tube and receptacle. They plan to air seal the chest tubes tomorrow if the bubbles are gone. If his lung stays inflated after monitoring 24 hours, they will take out chest tubes and monitor 6 more hours. He could go home Monday if all goes well!!🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Good morning ❤️My son had a tough night because the tubes in his chest were still giving him pain even with the pain meds 🙏Sharing breakfast with my son and spoon feeding him 🙏♥️ My son and I are resting and replenishing. We both need it because we were up most of the night ❤️ I’m going to try to give my son a sponge bath in bed since the bath wipes they gave us aren’t working well. I’m so glad my son was able to eat dinner since he had not eaten since last night. We shared this yummy meal, pudding and grapes as I spoon fed him ♥️We are watching Star Wars and I’m wearing my good luck socks for his lungs being able to stay inflated after this surgery 🍀🍀🍀 We have been able to get his pain level down from 10 to 5 when he is not moving with strong pain meds 🙏

My son’s lung surgery went well!🙏 He is finally back to our hospital room after his surgery 🙏It took him a long time to get out of recovery and I couldn’t be with him there so I’ve been so sick with worry! I’m so so so so thankful we are back together again! He is in a lot of pain with the two larger tubes in his chest and has started strong pain meds 🙏 His is also having a lot of drainage from his lung in his chest drain tube 🙏
